Reading's Biggest
Pride Event Yet!
Reading is once again gearing up
for a fantastic Pride event.
The day starts with a parade which will make its
way through the centre of town before heading for
the Festival site at Kings Meadow Park. This year
there is a circus theme with a grand circus top and
dance performance by the Berkshire Alternative
Dance company, AKA “BAD Company’’ performing
a mixture of urban indie and street dance. Late
afternoon the circus tent turns into a dance tent with
some top djs and tunes.
On stage is a great mix of regular favourites and
fantastic new acts. Hosting will be Wilma F and
appearing on the main stage will be, among others,
Kelly Wilde, Nicolette Street, Hazel Deane, Tight
Fit and Angie Brown. Reading Pride will also
be joined by numerous local organisations,
voluntary groups and charities showing
their support for LGBT related issues.
Each will have a stall in the main arena
and will be available to talk to throughout
the day.
The day long free event is a celebration of
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community
and culture, however organisers welcome and urge
all members of Reading’s rich and diverse community
to join in. Reading Pride aims to be an inclusive
celebration of diversity and equality in all forms,
throughout the Thames Valley area.
The annual parade will be kicking off at the
Civic Centre at 11.30am and meander through
Broad Street, Market Square, Forbury Gardens
before arriving at Kings Meadow at 12pm. Be
sure to be there for this spectacular march
lead by local businesses and organisations.
As always, Reading Pride has strived to
keep this a free event for all members of the
community and this year is no different.
Please help us to keep this event free and donate
by texting LGBT00 £2/5/10 to 70070.
