The Team won a bursary to fund a
community based project and are looking
for some help. The project is focussing on
tackling homophobia among young people
in schools.
The idea is to produce a 10 minute DVD
that can be distributed to all schools in
the Thames Valley region and TVGPA are
looking for help from the LGBT community.
Kelly Reed, Chair of the Thames Valley GPA,
says ‘We are looking for creative young
people to bring inspiration to this exciting
project.
Will you take part in the film?
Come up with a slogan for the
campaign? Help with the back stage
– getting a story board together and
being part of the production team?
Do you have some real life examples
of being bullied because of your sexual
orientation?
What messages do you think young
people will listen to?
If you are interested in taking part,

A big well done goes to the committee and
vast number of volunteers who helped to
make the 10th annual Oxford Gay pride a
success. Kicking off with the festival week,
the celebrations climaxed in the tried and
tested parade and party in Oxpens field.
The festival kicked off with a launch event
at The Plush Lounge and included an
exhibition at Modern Art Oxford, several
top class performances at The Old Fire
Station and of course, the Oxford Pride Dog
Show. There was also another successful
Drag Race through the streets of Oxford,
which is now looking like becoming another
regular event. At the main event, pride-
goers were treated to a fantastic array of
stage performances, speech by legendary
Human Rights Activist Peter Tatchell as
well as mixing with the starts of Channel
4 documentary My Transexual Summer.
Well done to the committee! If you want to
be involved in the planning for next year,
details are on the Oxford Pride website -
