Playwriting for Pride

Celebrate pride month in this vibrant playwriting workshop!

In this workshop you’ll engage in fun, practical exercises focused on translating queer experience into on-stage performance. Connect with fellow participants in a supportive environment and leave with a short piece of writing ready to share.

Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, all levels are welcome.

Teen Zine Pride Workshop

3-5pm Saturday 15th June

Age Restriction: 13-18 years

Come and express your personal pride with illustrator Meg Hiorns, as she helps you create a zine to spread your message of pride with your community. Zines are a DIY way of making a publication with little or no budget. A way to bring your messages, thoughts and feelings together, creatively to share with others.

This is a mixed media creative session; materials will be provided. If you have any poems, images or mediums that help you express your feelings around pride please bring these along with you.

Celebrate pride month at The Mill Arts Centre!

This year, in celebration of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, The Mill Arts Centre is thrilled to host a social gathering in its gallery space for members of the local queer community to chat and connect.

What to Expect:

Mix and Mingle: Chat to fellow members of the queer community in Banbury – all are welcome.

Artistic Showcase: Take a look at what participants have created in The Mill’s Pride Month workshops (more details on these below!)

Refreshments: Our Cafe Bar will be open and serving a wide range of food and drink.

How to Attend: The Pride Social is totally free to attend—just show up and enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there!

Laugh Out Proud

An LGBTQIA+ comedy night, featuring the best in established and upcoming acts from the community on the UK comedy circuit.

This night is all about giving acts and audiences alike a fun and friendly place to express themselves, kick back, have a laugh and good time in an inclusive and welcoming comedy clubs environment.

Whether it’s comedy, cabaret or anything in between – Laugh Out Proud is the queer night out you’re looking for.

Discover emilyn’s first solo work in two decades: UNTITLED. Embracing the nuances of ageing and the essence of bowing out, she intertwines movement and theater with dark humor and moments of poignant introspection. From her groundbreaking career in ballet to her pioneering ventures in New Dance, emilyn’s journey resonates with authenticity and innovation.

Transforming between roles of hunter and creature, therapist and diva, UNTITLED is a collage of personal narratives and collaborative choreography with Heidi Rustgaard, Florence Peake, and Joseph Mercier. In this captivating performance, emilyn redefines presence, exploring themes of queerness, transformation, and the ever-evolving self.
