Queer History Club(bing!) Vol #1

Queer In Brighton/Queer Heritage South are delighted to resume in-person events with the launch of Queer History Club(bing!) Vol #1 at Brighton Pride’s new Ironwork Studios on Sunday Oct 24th 4:30pm – 8pm. This event will bring together legendary club promoters from Brighton & Hove’s LGBTIQ+ nightlife. 

For the first volume we’ll be joined by Paul Kemp renowned for Wild Fruit, Club Shame and Brighton Pride, much loved Brighton performer and persona Boogaloo Stu of Dynamite Boogaloo fame plus Affy Go Bang of Calabash and Go Bang. These three Brighton nightlife game-changers will share the history of their wild nights, followed by DJ sets to take you on a journey through nightclubs past with visuals by LadyPat. Queer in Brighton/Queer Heritage South continue to release new episodes of heritage podcast My Queer Museum, where leading lights of from the city’s LGBTIQ+ nightlife history share personal stories plus choose objects from their lives that they would showcase in a queer museum. The latest episode sees acclaimed poet Maria Jastrzębska reflect on her childhood in the Polish girl scouts and a lifetime of feminist organising and activism
